Dallas Council Wants To Shut Down Poker Tables 2 Years After Allowing Them

Rush Street Interactive, which operates the popular online brands BetRivers and BetSugarHouse, has acquired the popular TV program Poker Night in America. Poker Night in America has been airing since 2014 and features an array of cash games, as well as sit & go-s.

Rush Street acquired Poker Night in America in a cash-and-stock deal worth approximately $4.9 million. The poker show airs nationally on the CBS Sports Network and broadcasts various professional poker cash games from all corners of the world. Rush Street and CBS Sports Network have a longstanding relationship as Rush Street’s subsidiary Rush Street Productions has been producing poker series for years.

For instance, in 2016, Rush Street Productions, premiered a poker series titled The Final Table on CBS Sports. The hour-long series featured celebrated poker pro Phil Hellmuth and Antonio Esfandiar as hosts. The Final Table featured coverage of various poker tournaments across the US which was complemented by unique commentary and insights from the announcing team, which would often include star-studded guests.

As a matter of fact, when it debuted in 2016, The Final Table aired after Poker Night in America. Rush Street production has developed a knack for presenting live poker in a truly authentic and interesting way as poker operators all over the world work hard to evolve the poker TV experience.

Poker Night in America is designed to complement Run It Once Poker

According to the CEO of Rush Street Interactive Richard Schwartz, the newly acquired Poker Night in America will complement RSI’s recent aquation Run It Once Poker. In March this year, Rush Street Interactive announced that it would be acquiring the popular European brand that was founded by Phil Galfond.

Phil Galfond is best known for high-stakes Pot Limit Omaha. Galfond has an PLO-focused online course on Run It Once where he teaches theory, as well as challenges opponents. The Maryland native is regarded as one of the most experienced Pot Limit Omaha professionals and has been solidifying his reputation with his ongoing Galfond challenge, which consists of a series of high stakes heads-up tournaments and challenges.

Galfond founded Run It Once Poker in 2012 and the platform has been growing steadily as time has progressed. Rush Street acquired Run It Once with the intention of enhancing and integrating its software into RSI’s platform. Now that RSI controls Run It Once Poker, the RSI brand will also benefit from a recognized brand name in professional poker circles, which will make it a lot easier to launch its product in the few states that currently offer regulated online poker.

RSI already has a well-established online sports betting and casino gaming presence in the US iGaming market. Rush Street’s BetRivers.com and PlaySugarHouse.com brands are operational in several states. As such, if Run It Once is to debut its platform soon, it is expected that it will first debut its product in the 3 states where PlaySugarHouse.com namely Connecticut, Pennsylvania, as well as New Jersey.

RSI’s BetRivers brand operates in 11 additional states including Louisiana, West Virginia, Indiana, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Colorado, Virginia, Illinois, Michigan, and New York. In almost all the states mentioned, here, Rush Street Interactive offers an online sportsbook for its customers.

Over the last couple of years, Rush Street has also refurbished several brick-and-mortar casinos in the US and Canada. These include various popular retail casinos such as Rivers Casino Philadelphia, which is the old SugarHouse Casino in Pennsylvania, Rivers Casino, in Pittsburgh, as well as Rivers Casino des Plaines situated in Illinois.

In March this year, Rush Street became the first online and sports betting company in the country to become accredited by RG Check. An RG Check endorsement is one of the most important accreditations an online casino operator can receive as it implies that an operator has taken all measures necessary to create a safe and sustainable player base.

Both PlaySugarHouse and BetRivers were accredited and deemed to have created comprehensive and rigorous responsible gaming standards. The RG check was created to meet and surpass all existing responsible gambling regulatory requirements and each accreditation lasts for 3 years.

Receiving the accreditation serves as a testament to RSI’s execution of its corporate social responsibility, which consists of the continued execution of RSI’s responsible gaming initiatives. At the moment, Rush Street Interactive operates in 13 states. It is also licensed to operate in the Colombian gambling market.

Rush Street also made its Canadian debut this year

In addition to being accredited by RG Check, Rush Street also made its debut in the newly legalized iGaming market in Canada. Rush Street entered the burgeoning market through BetRivers online casinos and sportsbooks where it has been growing steadily since its launch.

BetRivers currently operates an innovative online casino that offers more than 350 slot machines and table games. The casino also offers Canadian punters fun loyalty and bonus features while the sportsbook offers sports fans chances to wager in single game wagers and parlays from different leagues across the world such as the NHL.

With its launch in Canada, RSI is now available in 3 countries and anticipates introducing the award-winning brand in Mexico before the end of this year. RSI stands as the 4th biggest operator of online casino and sports betting and is one of the most recognized iGaming brands in Latin America. In Colombia, specifically, Rush Street accounts for close to 20% of the iGaming handle.

Final Thoughts

Founded in 2012, Rush Street Interactive is an award-winning brand that continues to outshine even the most established iGaming operators in the world. This year, it was awarded the Online Casino Operator of the Year, as well as the Customer Service Operator of the Year award for North America by the eGaming Review.

Last year, it also won the title of Casino Operator of the Year at the EGR North America Awards, as well as the Sportsbook operator of the Year at last year’s SBC Latinoamérica Awards.
